Former President of Ghana and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has explained that he is seeking to be president because of the hopelessness engulfing Ghana.

He says corruption, nepotism, brazen theft, waste of national resources, impunity, and general criminality have become the hallmarks of Ghana’s current government.

As a result, citizens are losing hope in the country and a change of government is the only way to restore the lost hope.

“Unspeakable corruption, nepotism, brazen theft, waste of national resources, impunity, and general criminality have become the hallmarks of Ghana’s current government.

With the national spirit sinking to an all-time low and hopelessness engulfing our country, a change in governance and direction is imperative. That is why I have decided to run for office as President. #LetsBuildGhanaTogether #Mahama4Change2024,” he said in a post on social media.
