Under the guidance of new coach Aboubakar Ouattara, Hearts of Oak showcased resilience and determination, securing a come-from-behind victory over Nsoatreman on Sunday, extending their winning streak.
Despite initially struggling to find their footing in the match, Hearts of Oak fell behind early as Nsoatreman’s Walid Neymah Fuseini capitalized on poor defending to score in the 23rd minute.
However, Ouattara’s halftime adjustments proved crucial as Hearts of Oak emerged stronger in the second half. Salifu Ibrahim’s deflected effort leveled the scores, and Ivorian forward Cisse Kassim added a brilliant goal eight minutes later, sealing the win.
This victory marked Hearts of Oak’s second consecutive triumph under Ouattara and extended their unbeaten streak to five matches in the league. They climbed to seventh place in the standings, albeit still trailing leaders Samartex by eight points.
With several matches remaining, Hearts of Oak retains hope for a title push if they maintain their current level of performance.
Meanwhile, Nsoatreman, although ahead of Hearts of Oak in the table, will be disappointed they couldn’t secure a victory against the Phobians despite their efforts.
