Health Ministry Suspends Nalerigu Nursing College Principal Over Alleged Over-Admission
The Ministry of Health has suspended Fredrick Anaba, principal of the Nalerigu Nurses and Midwifery Training College, following allegations that the institution admitted more students than the approved quota.
The decision was announced on 27 February 2026 by Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh during a working visit to the Upper East, North-East, and Northern Regions. The suspension is intended to facilitate a full investigation into the matter.
Minister Akandoh warned that all health training institutions must strictly comply with government-approved admission quotas and stressed that any breach of these guidelines would attract sanctions.
The Ministry of Health emphasized that further action would be taken once the investigation is completed, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability, and high standards in nursing and midwifery education.
