Asamoah Gyan, Ghana and Africa’s all-time leading World Cup goalscorer, was at the center of a global event as PUMA launched the Black Stars’ new kits for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in New York City. The event, held at Domino Square, showcased the Black Stars alongside 10 other nations from four continents, highlighting Ghana’s prominent place in world football.

In a move away from traditional kit reveals, PUMA chose to unveil the designs through a street football concept. Local community players from each nation wore the new kits first, taking part in a 4v4 tournament on the streets of New York.

“We wanted to connect with fan communities in meaningful ways. This event was designed to let local football players experience the new kits in action before anyone else, right on their own city pitch,” said Nadia Kokni, PUMA’s Vice President of Global Brand Marketing.

PUMA, a long-standing partner of Ghana football, also backs Morocco, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, and Egypt, making five African nations part of its World Cup presence. As one of the leading kit suppliers for the 2026 World Cup, PUMA is set to outfit nearly a quarter of all teams, strengthening its connection with African football.

The event was more than just a kit launch; it was a celebration of football, culture, and community, with a live performance by Ghanaian artist Black Sherif and cultural showcases from participating nations. Football legends Ricardo Quaresma, Asamoah Gyan, and El Hadji Diouf were also in attendance, bridging the past and present of the beautiful game.

PUMA’s 2026 kit collection, featuring ULTRAWEAVE technology and dryCELL fabric, will be available starting March 24. The replica jerseys will be produced using RE:FIBRE, aligning with PUMA’s sustainability efforts.

“The culture of football drives us,” said Dominique Gathier, PUMA’s Vice President of Teamsport. “This collection combines technical excellence with the spirit of global unity, reflecting our commitment to the world’s biggest football stage.”
