Graham Potter declined an offer to replace Michael Beale, who is under pressure, as manager of Scottish club Rangers.
In addition to dropping two of their first four Scottish Premiership games, including an Old Firm derby, Rangers was eliminated from the Champions League qualifying round after being thrashed 5-1 by PSV Eindhoven in the second leg.

This prompted the Rangers management to consider their alternatives and make contact with Potter’s agents.
The former manager of Chelsea and Brighton, though, had no interest in talking about the position.
Potter is at ease and not in a rush to return to management; instead, he prefers to wait for the proper opportunity to present itself.
After recently speaking with French club Lyon, the former Swansea manager decided against joining the Ligue 1 team.
Lyon have only earned one point from their first four league games, and they are currently last in France’s top division.
After being fired by Chelsea in April, Potter is now looking to join a Champions League-caliber team or take on a position where there is a strong chance of eventually making it to Europe’s premier competition.
As soon as he left Stamford Bridge, Leicester contacted him.
It happened after Brendan Rodgers was fired by the Foxes as they fought relegation.
Prior to Leicester’s defeat, Dean Smith was added to the game, thus Potter decided it was too early for him to return.
In his 31 games as Chelsea’s manager, Potter only managed 12 victories.
Nevertheless, he is still well-regarded as a coach due to his successful tenures at Swansea, Brighton, and the Swedish team Ostersund.
