Although it is now “unlikely” that CONOR GALLAGHER will leave Chelsea this month, Tottenham is still determined to sign the star.
It has been brought to SunSport’s attention by Mauricio Pochettino’s attention that selling the 23-year-old Gallagher this month would be a mistake.

Spurs will likely not achieve their desired January transfer swap, but they will still pursue him throughout the summer.
According to our source, Tottenham wants to sign Conor, but there’s a serious scheduling conflict.
“A few months ago, Spurs believed the trade was finalized and Chelsea was willing to let the player leave.
However, Conor has grown to be a crucial member of the team in recent weeks, and the manager believes that benching him now could cause serious issues in the second half of the season.
Although he may not be in Pochettino’s long-term plans, he is currently regarded as an essential component of the project.
“Gallagher wants to help the team win the season and is not in any hurry to go.
“The board will fear a massive backlash if they let him go and he takes Spurs, one of Chelsea’s biggest rivals, into the Champions League while they are left stuck in the middle of the table. He is also massively popular with the fans.”
In order to prepare for Sunday’s FA Cup fourth-round match against Manchester City and Sunday’s trip to Manchester United, Ange Postecoglou wants to lock down a midfield player.

He is looking for an all-action star who can play in the middle with an intimidating presence and, if needed, switch out for James Maddison in a more advanced role.
Gallagher is the player who most closely matches the description, and Chelsea has already said that they are open to a deal at the right price.
Though there are additional possible issues, that might be as much as £50 million.
Conor is essentially the guy Poch has the greatest faith in for tactical suggestions; the 4-3-3 system works well with him.
“Pochettino is hesitant to let such a player go during such an inconsistent period of results so early in his time, and so many others still need to get used to that system.”
Having led Chelsea during Reece James and Ben Chilwell’s absences, Gallagher is relishing the added responsibility at Chelsea.
