Ghanaian youngster Israel Anum has joined Swedish giants Malmo FF in the summer transfer window.
The 17-year-old signed a deal to join the club’s U19 side from the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana.
Anum has long been on the radar of the Swedish outfit and was handed a deal after a successful trial.
“I am so happy to come to Malmö, it is a big club that is doing very well, that plays in Europe. It’s a great feeling to be here and I’m looking forward to getting started,” he said.
“As a player, I would describe myself as aggressive, as a leader and I love helping my teammates. Malmö is a fantastic club that I believe will give me great opportunities, being part of this club will help me develop as a player,” he added.
The talented centre-back will be expected to build his way to the first team after displaying enormous potential.
Anum is the latest player from the renowned Right to Dream Academy to land a huge club in Europe.
“Israel is a player I have been down and watched in Ghana. A modern centre-back in the sense that he may not be the typical big centre-back but he is more athletic, very mobile, fast, quick, incredibly resilient and well-trained. He has received a great education in the Right to Dream Academy,” said Jeffrey Aubynn, a chief scout in Sweden.
