Ghana Health Service issues alert over Dengue Fever

The Ghana Health Service has issued an alert of an outbreak of dengue fever.

A statement from GHS said the outbreak of clinical malaria, known as dengue fever, has been recorded in some districts of the Eastern Region.

Nine cases have since been recorded and are currently being managed at home.

Dengue is a viral infection that spreads from mosquitoes to people. Most people who get dengue will not have symptoms. But for those who do, the most common symptoms are high fever, headache, body aches, nausea, and rash.

Most will get better in 1-2 weeks.
