North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has revealed that former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party’s recent interview justifies why the sale of four SSNIT hotels needs to be investigated.

According to him, there are inconsistencies surrounding the deal and there is a need for Ghanaians to be provided with clarity.

He made this known after Freddy Blay disclosed in an interview that his son offered $150 to $200 million for the SSNIT hotels.

Ablakwa indicated that he has been rightly informed that Bryan Acheampong made the highest and better offer of $61 million and therefore claims by Freddy Blay that his son offered more makes the deal murkier.

“Unending murkiness. We were told Bryan Acheampong offered the highest bid of US$61million; now former NPP Chairman, Freddie Blay also says his 34 year old son offered “150 to 200 million” for the SSNIT hotels. Another clear justification for my RTI Request for the tender evaluation report and minutes of tender committee meetings. State Capture shall surely be defeated! For God and Country. Ghana First,” he shared in a post on social media.

Freddy Blay in an interview on TV3 indicated that he had no hand in his son’s business dealings and should not be dragged in because his son went to bid for a contract with the support of syndicated Banks and International Hotel Chain.

He believes his son is of age and his decisions should not be tied to him just because he is a member of the governing political party.
