Four of the six players that Robin Van Persie ranked as his career’s best were legendary members of Manchester United.
At the age of 35, the former captain of Arsenal, who played his final three seasons in England at Old Trafford, announced his retirement from the game.

After declining an offer from Arsenal to extend his contract, Van Persie made a contentious move to United in 2012.
The Premier League championship was later won by him in his debut campaign at Old Trafford.
Furthermore, the Dutch sensation seems to have positive recollections of his time spent in Manchester’s red area, listing four Red Devils players as some of the greatest teammates he ever had.
It’s hard to choose just one talented teammate, he said to BBC Sport when asked.
“I would go for Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney and Ruud van Nistelrooy.”
Long before Van Persie joined United in 2006, Van Nistelrooy departed Old Trafford.
However, the two strikers combined for 172 caps and 85 goals while playing for Holland.
The former captain of Arsenal also said that Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, two former Red Devils, were the two best defenders he had ever faced.
Van Persie returned home to finish his career with his boyhood club, Feyenoord, where he is currently Arne Slot’s assistant coach, after spending three years at Fenerbahce.
He says that since he had one more season left on his contract in 2015, he could have continued to play at Old Trafford.
However, once former United manager Louis van Gaal made it apparent that the striker was not in his plans, the player made the decision to “move on.”

“Maybe I should have stayed because I had one more year on my deal,” stated Van Persie.
“But when Van Gaal took over as coach, it was evident what his goals were.
“After that, you must decide whether to stick around and defend your position.
“Is it going to be a fair competition? With all of that information, we made the decision to proceed.
“But three years is not three days, it’s still a long period, it’s still a big part of my football career, and in total 11 years of football in England… as a kid I would never have dreamed of that.”
