In Awutu Bereku, Central Region, tragedy struck as four individuals lost their lives and numerous others sustained injuries in a horrific accident.
The incident unfolded during the early hours of Tuesday, February 27, 2024, involving a tipper truck bearing registration number GS 2820-21 and a Ford transit, registered as GG 5447-22.
Nii Armah, a passenger who suffered a forehead injury, recounted that they were en route from Accra to Winneba when the tipper truck, traveling in the opposite direction, suddenly lost control and swerved into their lane.
Regrettably, the collision claimed the lives of four individuals instantly, with several others, including a toddler believed to be around a year and a half old, sustaining injuries.
Emergency responders swiftly transported the victims to St Gregory Hospital for medical attention, where the deceased were also taken for further procedures.
