Having personally utilized the market, she recognized the urgent need for repairs, including floors and roofs, prompting her to spearhead a comprehensive facelift.

The refurbishment project not only addressed structural issues but also included essential amenities such as water facilities and improved sanitation, aimed at supporting the daily business activities of the women in the market.

During the event, gratitude poured in from the traders who lauded the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast for her selfless dedication to improving their lives. Chief and elders, the NDC Chairman of the Central Region, the Member of Parliament for the KEEA constituency, Samuel Atta Mills, and other dignitaries expressed their appreciation, acknowledging Opoku Agyemang’s unwavering support.

Opoku Agyemang highlighted the visionary goals of former President John Dramani Mahama, particularly emphasizing the pursuit of a 24-hour economy. This vision, she explained, serves as a strategic means to rebuild the economy and address unemployment, particularly impacting the youth and women.
