The running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, believes that women at the helm of the Ghana Bar Association will bring important reforms to the legal profession in Ghana.

According to her, female leadership strengthens the narrative about expanding leadership beyond a single gender in our national life.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang made this position known when she congratulated them in a post shared via social media.

“Hearty congratulations to Efua Ghartey, the first woman to be elected as president of the Ghana Bar Association. Special mention to Victoria Barth who is Vice President.

This historic achievement is one that we are proud of because it strengthens the narrative about expanding leadership beyond a single gender in our national life.

I wish both of them the very best in this role and trust that they will bring important reforms to the legal profession in our dear country while improving advocacy.

Efua na Victoria, Mmo na adwuma!”.
