The Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, has commended residents of the constituency for their unwavering loyalty to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the years. He noted that their loyalty to the party has resulted in significant infrastructural development in the area.

During Easter festivities, Dr Adutwum spoke at several churches in the constituency and highlighted several completed and ongoing projects that are transforming Bosomtwe. The Minister said that the construction of the main road linking the constituency to Kumasi would open the area for economic growth and enhance the tourism potential of Lake Bosomtwe.

According to Dr Adutwum, school projects executed in the constituency since 2017 have been changing the face of education, and he urged parents to take advantage of the opportunities to educate their children.

“There were only three Senior High Schools () in this constituency when the NPP returned to power in 2017, but today we have more than 10 across the constituency,” he revealed.

He also stressed the importance of maintaining the NPP to sustain the impactful education policy direction in the country, citing the vision of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to make secondary education free, thereby creating equal opportunities for Ghanaian children to realize their potential, irrespective of their economic situation.

Dr Adutwum said the era where students in rural areas were denied access to secondary education in grade ‘A’ schools because of poor BECE results was over with the introduction of the Free SHS Policy.

He added that Bosomtwe would soon see tremendous progress following his personal project of sponsoring about 150 students in the constituency to study medicine and engineering at various universities.

The idea, he said, is to produce many engineers and doctors within the constituency, who would spearhead its development and create opportunities for the next generation.
