Today, on Monday, July 1, 2024, political parties and other stakeholders involved in Ghana’s electoral processes convened for discussions ahead of the upcoming elections scheduled for December 7.
During the meeting, several resolutions were made to streamline the election processes. One key decision was that security personnel, whose names have been submitted to the Electoral Commission (EC) for special duties, must present themselves in uniform along with their voter ID cards at EC district offices for verification as special voters.
Additionally, the EC has agreed to allow prison inmates, students, and security personnel listed for special duties to transfer their votes to constituencies where they currently reside. This transfer process will take place from Wednesday, July 3 to Friday, July 5, 2024.
Furthermore, the Electoral Commission has announced that the compilation of the Special Voters List will occur on July 6-7, 2024.
