Dr. James Kofi Annan, the NDC Effutu Parliamentary Candidate for the 2020 elections, has provided seven free 33-seater buses costing over GHC50,000 to convey all the 2023 BECE candidates in the Effutu Municipality, from Monday when examinations begin till when it ends on Friday.
This year, the BECE is taking place between Monday, August 7, and Friday, August 11th, across all districts in Ghana.
This year, a total of 1,840 candidates are participating in the BECE in the Effutu Municipality. The figure is made up of 884 boys and 956 girls and two special students, writing the examinations in five different centres.
This is the 7th year in a roll that Dr. James Kofi Annan has provided these free buses to convey BECE candidates. Before this program, BECE candidates from rural areas had to either pay unaffordable transportation costs to convey themselves to and from the centers, or walk long distances to the centers, or resorted to staying with family and friends in town, some resulting in all manner of problems.
