Discipline is an essential tool in enhancing effective teaching and learning – Headmaster declares

 

The Headmaster of Dormaa Senior High School (Great DORMASS), Mr. Thomas Armstrong Asante, has proclaimed that discipline is a fundamental pillar in enhancing effective teaching and learning within educational institutions. He asserted that when students abstain from detrimental behaviors and heed the guidance of their teachers and parents, and when educators comply with the directives of school authorities, it ultimately elevates the educational standards of the institution.

 

He further stressed that, in addition to discipline, schools must possess well-appointed and conducive classrooms emphasizing that Dormaa Senior High School boasts numerous classrooms and science laboratory that merely require some renovations to render them more appealing for academic pursuits.

 

He highlighted that Dormaa Senior High School is academically inclined, which has enabled them to triumph in numerous competitions and that with modest support for infrastructure enhancement, even greater achievements can be anticipated.

 

 

Mr. Thomas Armstrong Asante voiced his concerns regarding the persistent complaints about students wandering around town. He attributed this issue to the school’s incomplete fence and urged parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to collaborate in constructing the fence to prevent students from leaving during class hours.

He revealed that there are demands for the school authorities to elevate the school’s status from a Grade ‘B’ institution to Grade ‘A’.

 

He emphasized that Grade ‘A’ schools has a lot of significant infrastructure enhancements, therefore efforts from parents and stakeholders in improving the school’s infrastructure will automatically qualify it for the much-anticipated Category ‘A’ status.

 

 

Mr. Asante urged for a concerted effort to combat truancy and the presence of students in town during school hours.

 

He proposed that parents and community members should endeavor to photograph unruly students and report them to school authorities, ensuring appropriate disciplinary measures are enforced to deter similar behavior in others.
