DEPUTY GENDER MINISTER PROMISE DIASPORA GIRLS SHS 100 BAGS OF CEMENT AFTER HEADMISTRESS SPEECH

The Headmistress of Diaspora girls SHS at Obodan in the Akuapem South constituency Mrs Ama Thompson made a speech and said their school has not benefitted from any infrastructure since 2017.

This was at the 20th anniversary of the school at the school premises last Saturday 6th May 2023.

In her speech, she said the students have to eat in batches due to lack of big hall. Morning assemblies and church services are done outside early in the morning or later in the day when the sun has set. Social gatherings do not take place when it is raining.

She placed her request before the distinguish guest that, they want an assembly hall complex that can house about 2,000 students and there is an availability of land. Inadequate of classrooms and wish stakeholders can support them with 500 bags of cement and sand to complete their fence wall to avoid future encroachment.

 

In addition to her speech, the MP for Kwabre East and the Deputy Minister for Gender and children social protection Hon Francisca Oteng Mensah who stood in for the Chief of staff  Hon Akosua Frema Opare Osei personally promised them that, she will support them build their fence wall with 100 bags of cement and assured them she is going to see the Hon Chief Justice and Minister for Education and put the request the school has made before them.

The MP for Akuapem South constituency and the Minister of state at local government decentralization and rural development Hon O B Amoah donates 10 streetlights, Gh¢20,000 and told them, he will assist the school in building the fence wall and reestablish of their Library.
