Reports indicate that the Democracy match between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak, initially scheduled for July 3, 2024, has been postponed. The new date for the match is July 17, and it will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium. The reason cited for the postponement is that both teams were not fully prepared.

Organized by Ghana’s parliament, the match is themed “30 Years of Parliamentary Democracy Under the 4th Republic: The Journey Thus Far”. Its purpose is to promote peace, engage citizens, and encourage participation in the legislative process.

As part of the event, there will be a curtain-raiser match between ex-Black Stars players and Parliament before the main game of the day.

The winner of this match is expected to play against DC United in the United States of America.
