Crystal Palace midfielder, Jeffrey Schlupp, may be returning to the Black Stars squad after his recent decision to reject future call-ups. The former regular figure in the Ghana national team was dropped from the 2022 World Cup squad by former coach Otto Addo, leading to his decision to opt-out of future selection.

However, new Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton, is making efforts to reconcile with the player and have him back in the team. Schlupp had his first Black Stars appearance in 2011 and was a significant contributor to the team until his recent struggles.

Hughton has arranged a meeting with Schlupp to discuss the situation and possibly resolve any outstanding issues. Schlupp’s fine form for Crystal Palace this season, where he has played 33 Premier League games, scoring three goals and providing an assist, could make him an invaluable asset to the Black Stars.

The midfielder’s first goal for Ghana came in a 7-1 victory against Mauritius in an African Cup of Nations qualifier in 2015. With his versatility and impact, Schlupp’s return to the Black Stars squad could boost the team’s chances of success.
