19 people have since been hospitalized at Village of Hope Hospital, Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital and Senya Beraku Polyclinic respectively following a fatal accident that occurred this dawn at Senya Bonsuoku on the Gomoa Ojobi to Senya Beraku stretch in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.
The accident which involves two Sprinter Benz bus with registration number Ac 804 – 16 and GR 5137 – 18 coming from opposite directions collided heavily resulting in 19 persons sustaining severe injuries and some into critical conditions.
An Eyewitness and a driver Kenneth Awuah(Blessing) who spoked to Bryt Fm News correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah revealed he suspects one of the drivers was sleeping after driving the whole night from Accra to Senya Beraku.
A Victim of the accident, Ebenezer Eshun narrated their ordeal after visiting them at the Village of Hope Hospital in Gomoa Fetteh to Bryt Fm News.
Meanwhile, Senya Beraku District Police Commander, DSP Kingsley Asante who was also speaking to Bryt Fm News gave breakdown of number of casualties admitted to the various hospitals.
He cautioned drivers plying the various roads over recent weather at dawns.
