An 81-year-old woman identified has been viciously attacked and killed by bees at the Apenteng Hall area in Debrakrom of the New Juaben South Municipality.

The bees were reportedly disturbed in their hives on a building, unleashing a sudden and aggressive attack on unsuspecting individuals.

People who found themselves in the path of the swarm suffered multiple stings as a result.

Information gathered indicates that Juliana Akua Kyerew Debrah, a retired teacher, was seated outside her house when the bees launched an attack on her, swarmed around her face and stung her severely, rendering her unconscious.

The victim’s son, Richard Fiifi, said that when he saw his mother, he quickly rushed her to the Eastern Regional Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Despite determined efforts to save her, Akua succumbed to the injuries and shock sustained during the bee assault, eventually passing away a few days later.
