Abdulai Gazale, the interim coach of Asante Kotoko, has openly admitted that his team played poorly in their recent 3-0 loss to Berekum Chelsea on Friday, April 14, 2023. The defeat marks the seventh Premier League loss for The Porcupines this season, as Berekum Chelsea’s Kalo Ouattara netted a brace and Patrick Ansu added a third goal to secure the victory.

Berekum Chelsea took the lead after halftime when Kalo Ouattara capitalized on a well-executed cross from Collins Ameyaw, heading the ball into the net on the 50th minute.

Ouattara scored his second goal in similar fashion with another header in the 63rd minute, further extending Berekum Chelsea’s lead. Patrick Ansu sealed the victory for Chelsea by scoring their third goal in the 85th minute.

Coach Gazale acknowledged that his team’s performance fell far below expectations.

In an interview with StarTimes, he expressed disappointment, saying, “It’s a disappointing result from our side. We came here with the aim of securing three points, but unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned.”

It is clear that Gazale recognized the subpar performance of his team in the match against Berekum Chelsea.
