Black Stars defender Alexander Kwabena Baidoo Djiku has returned to training at Fenerbahce after missing September’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers due to injury.

The Fenerbahce centre-back sustained an injury during the match against Alanyaspor just before the international break, sidelining him for the games against Angola and Niger.

However, the 30-year-old is progressing in his recovery, having completed individual training on Thursday at the Fenerbahce training facility.

While he remains doubtful for the upcoming match against Kasimpasa this weekend, he is expected to fully recover in time for the derby against Galatasaray the following week.

Djiku has been a vital player for José Mourinho’s squad at the start of the new season, with Fenerbahce remaining unbeaten in the Turkish Super Lig.

Meanwhile, Ghana coach Otto Addo will be hoping the former Strasbourg defender stays fit ahead of next month’s double-header against Sudan in the Nations Cup qualifiers.
