A former member of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) Daniel Alolga Akata Pore has taken a swipe at Alan Kyerematen’s call for a serious third force in Ghana’s political space.
Although he believes it has been long overdue, he is of the view that it is too rich coming from someone like Alan Kyerematen.
Daniel Alolga Akata Pore asserts that Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen only realized Ghana needed a formidable third force because he was unable to win the Presidential Primaries in the New Patriotic Party.
To him, he does not take Alan Kyerematen and anyone associated with his Movement seriously because they are just people who wanted to entrench a two-party state but because they could not win an internal election, they have realized Ghana needs a third force.
However, he believes it is highly unlikely for Ghana to get a third force.
“The time for a third force is long overdue but you see, It is too rich coming from him because if he had won the primaries he wouldn’t be saying this. For me, I don’t listen to him. I’m being honest with you so if anybody joins him they should know I don’t listen to them.
It doesn’t make sense that someone who wanted to entrench a two-party state because he did not win…It’s just like Rawlings forming his own party because his wife did not win the primaries,” he said.
Alan Kyerematen resigned from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to form what he calls the Movement for Change after he lost in the first round of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Primaries.
He has moved on to form an Alliance with Abu Sakara for the 2024 elections.
