A tragic bee attack has claimed the life of a three-year-old boy, Christopher Amponsah, in Wawase, a suburb of Agona Swedru, Central Region. The incident occurred around 5 pm on Friday, March 20, 2026, when a swarm of bees attacked the community.
A total of 10 people were affected, with Christopher succumbing to his injuries. The other victims are receiving medical attention for varying degrees of harm.

Personnel from the Agona West National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and the Ghana National Fire Service responded promptly to control the situation. On Saturday, March 21, ACDCO Charles K. Agbavitor, Municipal NADMO Director, visited the scene to assess the situation and offer condolences to the grieving family.

This incident marks the second fatal bee attack in the Central Region within a week. Earlier, a female student from a private senior high school in Winneba lost her life in a similar attack.
