The Member of Parliament for Agona East Constituency who doubles as the former deputy central regional minister, Honorable Queenstar Pokua Sawyer has donated items worth over Gh¢10,000.00 to two orphanage homes in the Agona East constituency of the central region to facilitate effective leaving conditions of the orphans.
The items donated include two flat screen Television, 20 bags of rice, 10 gallons of cooking oil , 50 crates of eggs, 20 packs of toilet rolls, 20 bags of gari, 20 boxes of indomie instant noodles, 10 boxes of bathing soaps, 2bags of onions, 10 baskets of fresh tomatoes, 10 packs of pampers, 50 packs of beta malt, 50 packs of sachet water, 10 backers of powdered soap (omo), 200 pieces of eating bowls, 200 pieces of drinking cups, hand sanitizers and other educational materials with a cash amount of Gh¢5000.00.
These items were donated to the Hope orphanage home at Akwakwaa and Mother Care orphanage home at Agona Jacob all in the Agona East constituency of the central region by the Agona East Member of parliament in connection with her constituency and branch executives.
During the presentation, the member of Parliament denoted that the gesture is provided gear towards enhancing the living condition of the orphans and making life bearable for them. She added that for the Bible says “the religion that God our father accepts as pure and faultless is to visit orphans and widows in their distress” hence her decision to present these items and money to the two orphanage homes.
She has therefore promised to champion the cause of the less privileged ones for a better tomorrow.
