After the team’s 2-0 victory over Wolves on Saturday, BRENTFORD striker Ivan Toney made a joke about Thomas Frank saying he “doesn’t want him” in the midst of transfer rumors.

In recent months, the 27-year-old has been strongly linked to a move out of the Gtech Community Stadium.

After scoring for Brentford, Ivan Toney made a suggestion about his future.

According to Thomas Frank, the striker will “probably” move this summer.

He is reportedly wanted by Chelsea and Arsenal, with the £80 million striker being connected to both teams.

Toney will “likely” be sold this summer, according to Bees manager Frank, who acknowledged this earlier this week.

“It’s pretty obvious that Toney will most likely be sold in the summer,” he said to the Danish magazine Tipsbladet.

Although selling your greatest player can be costly, I also know that come the summer, he will only have one year remaining on his contract with us.

“We are also aware of his value. I don’t believe that many strikers in the world are currently better than him.”

Toney was questioned on the manager’s remarks following Brentford’s 2-0 victory over Wolves.

He answered in a statement to BBC Sport, saying, “I see that as he doesn’t want me!

“The manager has stated what he has stated, but I am not able to force clubs to come after me.

After returning last month, Toney has shown progress.

“I just need to keep scoring goals, which is what I do best. What is will be will be.”

Brentford did not get any proposals for Toney in January, but when the summer transfer window opens, club executives anticipate receiving multiple offers.

On Saturday, the Bees defeated Wolves and secured a vital victory.

Just after the half-hour mark, Christian Norgaard gave the home team the lead. Toney then sealed the victory with his third Premier League goal in as many outings.

Following the game, Frank declared, “I’m thrilled. I’m quite happy and proud of the players, particularly their defensive urgency; I truly appreciated their will and mindset.

“We know that when we play well, we are among the league’s best defensive teams, but too many of our games have seen us play without that consistency, urgency, or whatever it is that makes it seem like it has been three years since we have kept a clean sheet!

“A major theme of the day was the clean-sheet mentality. We discussed it over the week in meetings and training, and even though it seems obvious, I said, “clean sheet and we’ll win the game,” since we will always score goals.

“As a team, we played solid defense that included our core values, 50/50 duels, stopping one-on-one opportunities, aggressive running to get under the ball, and effective blocks. That aspect of the game made me very happy.”
