Abroye DC, has described the government’s proposed 24-hour economy policy as “lies and propaganda.”
Speaking on his programme”evidence show,”on Ohia TV, Abroye DC argued that the policy does not reflect the current economic realities in the country.
He also said that the government has failed to properly manage the economy but is is planning to tour all 16 regions and engaging various communities and markets. According Abroye, “the president has gone round the regions and communities, but the real market economy is not improving.”
Abroye DC further continued that the policy could negatively affect traders, particularly in major markets. “If you go somewhere like Market places many traders have been sacked,” he stated, suggesting that the initiative may lead to job losses instead of economic growth.
He also questioned the credibility of recent budget statements, urging the public to critically examine government claims. “They are just doing it for Ghanaians to believe it is a good 2026 budget,” he said, while calling on authorities to account for the 2025 budget and its projects.
Touching on the agricultural sector, he alleged that some government projects have been abandoned following changes in leadership. He stated that “the agric minister have run away from the agric projects” without proper explanation to the public.
In addition, Abroye DC raised concerns over compensation for affected traders, alleging that some Members of Parliament mishandled funds meant for displaced individuals. “Most of the MPs have taken the compensation from the government and did not give the right amount to the traders or did not give it to them at all,” he added
He noted that these developments have led to growing dissatisfaction among citizens, with some questioning the direction of the economy and the government’s handling of key policies.
Abroye DC concluded by urging Ghanaians to remain vigilant and demand accountability, insisting that the country’s economic challenges require honest and transparent leadership
