In a pivotal move towards environmental sustainability and food security, the Ghana National Fire Service launched the 2023 Annual Bushfire Prevention Awareness Campaign on Thursday, 23rd November. Held at the Methodist School in Djankrom-Nsawam, Eastern Region, the event marked 60 years of the service’s dedicated efforts.
Under the theme “60 Years of Existence: Bushfire Prevention – Key to Sustaining Our Natural Resources and Food Security,” the campaign was graced by the esteemed presence of Special Guest of Honour, Hon. Ambrose Dery, Minister of the Interior.
This year’s theme emphasizes the critical role bushfire prevention plays in preserving our environment and securing our food supply.
Adding an extra layer of recognition, awards were bestowed upon deserving fire volunteers and officers, highlighting their exceptional dedication to the cause.
This annual event not only prevents bushfires but also celebrates six decades of the Ghana National Fire Service’s commitment to community welfare.
